Massive LED concourse displays, digital menu boards, and real-time scoring integration for a major sports venue

Apex Sports Arena is a premier multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue in Denver, Colorado, hosting NBA, NHL, and major concert events for up to 18,000 attendees. The venue's aging signage infrastructure — a mix of static printed signs and outdated LCD displays installed over a decade ago — was failing to meet the expectations of modern sports fans and the venue's premium event clients.
Venue management identified three core problems: concession lines were longer than necessary because fans couldn't see menu options from a distance; the fan experience during pre-game and intermission periods lacked engagement; and the venue was leaving significant sponsorship revenue on the table because its digital advertising inventory was limited and technically outdated. Apex engaged Coffman Media to design and deploy a comprehensive digital signage overhaul that would address all three issues simultaneously.
Coffman Media developed a phased installation plan that worked around Apex's event schedule, completing work in focused overnight and off-day windows over 12 weeks. Our team deployed 340+ commercial displays across the venue, including high-brightness outdoor-rated LED displays for the main concourse, Samsung QM-series commercial displays for interior concession areas, and custom-fabricated menu board clusters above all 24 concession stands.
The centerpiece of the installation is a series of large-format LED ribbon displays running the length of the main concourse — 4 panels measuring 60 feet each — that display live game statistics, sponsor content, and fan engagement features during events. These displays are driven by a custom content management system that integrates directly with the venue's scoring system via API, ensuring real-time accuracy.
For concession areas, we deployed a digital menu board system with dynamic pricing capabilities and the ability to instantly mark items as sold out — a feature that has significantly reduced customer frustration and staff workload at busy concession stands.
The Apex Sports Arena digital signage deployment delivered immediate and sustained improvements to fan experience, concession revenue, and sponsorship income — establishing a new benchmark for the venue's commercial performance.
